The ICA's bar is transformed with an icon of Slovene furniture
design.
Niko Kralj designed the Rex Chair over 50 years ago and it has
remained a best selling product ever since. It deservedly features in
the collections of 20th century furniture.
Kralj's design ethos was to make good design accessible in price to
those who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Sounds familiar
enough today but a radical theory in the early 1950s. The wooden
folding chair is now in production by the Impakta in Slovenia with an
updated range.
