Slovene contemporary drama seeks to explore human relationships against a background of key topical issues from the dark side of neo-liberal free market mentality to feminism to reality TV.

Edinburgh Fringe winner Sladjana Vujovic directs performed readings of three plays, each a winner or nominee of the Best Play of the Year Award. The readings are in English.

The Corridor (winner in 2003) goes behind the scenes of a reality TV game to explore the pressure of ratings and the competitors' struggle with the incessant gaze of the cameras. Matjaz Zupančič's play has, like all the best TV and drama, an unexpected twist.

Evald Flisar's Nora Nora (winner in 2004) deals, in a critics' eyes, "with the malignant growth of feminism at the expense of men's dignity". Two couples in the same flat lead interwoven parallel lives trying to make sense of love, life and their own desires.

A 2005 nominee, Boštjan Tadel's Anywhere Out of This World mixes top international scientists, secret agents and investors into an emotionally charged commentary on the follies of progress, reinventing the definition of tragedy in 21st century.

Organized by Sodobnost International.
